Woohoo! Go Warriors! Even if you don't win!
I just got back from the Warriors game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They lost. But they put up a good fight for most of the game!! Yay! Eric, Dani and I went, with tickets given to me by Joe, sweetheart that he is.
The guys who were sitting next to us were a trip though. They seemed to take a real liking to Eric, but they called him names when they found out he was a Lakers fan. Whoa, the sudden yelling startled Dani and I almost out of our seats. And they kept offering us peanuts. Finally, I just wanted to take them and throw them down into the seats below us. I mean, seriously, a girl can only be offered peanuts a certain number of times before she goes postal.
I got Room on Fire today. SUCH A GREAT ALBUM!!! (Let me know if you want me to burn it for you. ^_^) I've been listening to it ever since. I never get tired of it. Hehe.
Oh! Prathna and I are definitely going to be teaching a decal! Well, we still have to turn in the paperwork (a sample syllabus), but the coordinators offered us mucho help in getting it off the ground, which is so awesome of them. Especially considering that they usually run fantasy book decals. Hehe. My friend Nick said he'd help, too, since he's going to be doing one of their typical decals.
*sigh* I love Berkeley!
And now I'm off to be a lump in front of my computer while I watch a movie. :-p
*muah*!!!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*clears throat*
Last night was soooooooo fun! I went to see the Strokes and they were awesome! Despite being very very drunk...One time, Julian picked up his mike stand and in a fit of...something...threw it across the stage towards the drums. Then, after the song was over, he couldn't find it. Finally, when he did, he started talking to it. "There you are baby. Oh, don't be like that. It won't happen again. I was drunk and a little mad." And then when people starting talking to him, he was like, "Shh! I'm talking to my mike stand."
All in all, it was a pretty good show. Despite him slurring and stumbling around when he wasn't singing.
At one point, I think the guitarist confiscated the bottle of champagne that Julian had been drinking out of at intervals.
Well, Dani and I are going to go look at a REALLY cool apt. So, I shall stop here. *muah*!

Wednesday, April 7

That's right! I'm BACK by popular demand!!! Or...well...Devika's sole demand about a month ago...
Nevermind!
So, what have I been up to, one might ask? I shall tell you!
For Spring Break, I went home and spent time with the folks and my best buddy Sparky. Then I came back here to do more homework and turn in more papers.
Then came last weekend!!!
I went to the two Van Morrison concerts in San Francisco and saw my dad play. It was sooooooooooooo AWESOME!!!! I also ran into this guy, Joe, who went to high school in my hometown. Granted, he didn't go to QUITE the same high school, but whatever.
And tomorrow night, I'm going to see The Strokes!!!!!!!! *raucous cheering*

I just have to add a little...footnote shall we say? *stiffles giggles* I think that best friends are the bestest, funnest, coolest thing in the whole world! They can make you feel up when you're down, beautiful when you feel ugly, and just plain OK when you feel like the world's largest freak. So, even though Sparky doesn't read my blog: KUDOS TO YOU FOR BEING THE COOLEST BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD!!!

Okay, I'm off to do some laundry and finish my linguistics write-up. *muah*

Adendum on the Footnote Discussion:
Sparky: Although, my last packet had my footnote prize--the "text" on page 23 was:
Sparky: " . A little over a year later, in July of 1921 , Adolf Hitler assumed control of the National Socialist German Workers Party. Before he turned truly evil, he actually greatly improved conditions in postwar Germany, allowing the country to recover economically and, clearly, militarily from the Great War."
Sparky: The rest was footnote.
And to think, Sparky's not even an English major! *gasp*

Sparky: Footnotes are fun.
Kaitlin: they are, aren't they?
Kaitlin: i don't know why they're so appealing
Sparky: Griffin (It should be noted that the Griffin piece is only one page long, therefore making it difficult to cite page numbers).
Sparky: Like this one^. A mighty fine footnote if I say so myself.
Kaitlin: (laughs)
Sparky: I love footnotes so much. They are the best place to insert dry humour in a serious paper.
Kaitlin: usually they make us use MLA format here, so we don't use footnotes
Kaitlin: *sigh* maybe that's the appeal they hold for me
Kaitlin: they're...forbidden...*looks mysterious*
Sparky: Forbidden fruit is always sweeter.
